Psychometric testing  provides a scientifically-based process for assessing a candidate’s "fit" with the job AND the organisation . 

Importantly, the psychometric tests that we use are virtually "fake-proof". 

That is, the type and range of questions generate responses that are difficult to manipulate.  Further, the information gathered is not influenced by a selection-panel’s intuition or “gut feel”.

Each candidate’s performance on psychometric tests may be compared against other candidates on equal and unbiased grounds.

Because conclusions are based on results from identical activities, comparisons are fair.

Tailoring tests for optimum recruitment outcomes

The tests prescribed will depend on the job. Typically, most roles require a package of tests that report on verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning skills.  Leadership positions would benefit from the addition of emotional intelligence assements.

Specialist roles may include assements of specific competencies such as mechanical reasoning for an engineer.
Personality reports or competency indicator reports, furnish an independent source of information about how a candidate is likely to behave on the job.  These reports are usually used in the final selection stages of the recruitment process.
