Mark Grey

Chairman

As a former recipient of the Telstra and state government Business Proprietor of the Year award, and accomplished leader in state, national and international settings, Mark brings extensive experience, insights and energy to his role at Livingstones.

His deep knowledge of what makes organisations successful has been demonstrated with an impressive track record of performance and achievement in multiple industries, professions, countries and cultures.

Mark shows his strong leadership capabilities through mentoring and persuasive dialogue and by building consensus through reasoned argument and experience. He also seeks to encourage innovation through listening and by being a catalyst for generating ideas.

Mark became Livingstones Chairman on 1 July, 2011. Among his other roles, Mark is the founding Secretary and a Director of Independent Ophthalmic Network Limited and Chief Executive of the Queensland Eye Hospital, Australia’s largest ophthalmic day hospital. Previously Mark worked in Asia for three years as CEO of Batey Redcell, an Asia-wide marketing and communication group and before that, Mark was the Managing Director in Brisbane of Clemenger BBDO, Australia’s largest Marketing Communication service company.

Mark has served on several private and public boards and has been the state Chairman and national director of the Advertising Federation of Australia and state Chairman and national director of the Australian Marketing Institute and was a director of the Australian Day Hospitals Association. His current Board positions include non-executive director of CPA Australia Ltd, and Independent Director of Forests and Wood Products Australia Limited.  He is also the Chairman of the Corpoate Advisory Board of Verifact.

As well as chairing the Board of Directors at Livingstones, Mark sees his role as driving the strategic planning process, managing risk mitigation and ensuring the appropriate corporate governance and compliance arrangements are in place. Mark also seeks to ensure maintenance of the very highest levels of business ethics as well as a stable management team and careful attention to succession planning. Protecting and growing Livingstones positive and enviable culture is another of Mark’s key considerations.
