Katy’s background in industrial relations gives her an excellent insight into patterns of conflict in the workplace. She became increasingly aware that many individuals and organisations do not handle conflict effectively. She has seen many situations escalate and become very damaging when they could have been resolved using a different approach.
Katy’s other specialty area is leadership and management training. She particularly enjoys the challenge of enhancing awareness and developing people skills for managers who have a technical focus.
Katy has worked with clients in a wide range of industries including education, child care, retail, electricity, mining, government, food processing and government owned corporations.
Katy undertakes mediation as well as conflict coaching, facilitation and training. She also carries out workplace investigations for her clients and provides a wide range of consulting services in the performance management arena. Prevention strategies and advice on anti-discrimination and harassment matters are also part of Katy’s service offering to her clients.
Katy is an accomplished leadership coach and trainer and finds the personal interaction with employers and employees in this environment highly satisfying. She is always looking for ways to raise the training bar by making training experiences stimulating and effective for both participants and their organisations.
