Celia Young

Consultant

Celia draws on her considerable communication skills and her naturally warm and engaging manner to tackle the challenges associated with interpreting and clarifying a host of workplace relations provisions and issues.

With years of experience and runs on the board interacting with a diverse cross-section of people, particularly in the health and retail industries, Celia is known for her ability to listen carefully and really understand the clients’ needs from their point of view. She has an acknowledged ability to look at the whole picture without missing the smaller important details. This allows her to consistently provide quality advice to her clients.

With her background as an Industrial Relations advisor in the health industry, Celia brings valuable experience and insights to the clear interpretation and practical application of legislative requirements in the workplace.

She understands the importance of a proactive approach in ensuring new legislation is properly understood and applied and that fair processes are in place for dealing with all employee issues. Celia uses her experience together with her flexible, supportive and common sense approach to consistently deliver quality outcomes.

Celia works across the many dimensions of Employment & Industrial Relations with a genuine interest in helping people sort through complex issues, getting to the heart of the problem, rather than applying bandaid solutions. The scope of her work includes reviewing policies and procedures, and providing advice on various matters such as performance management, terminations, bullying and harassment. Celia is particularly committed to ensuring fair processes apply in managing employees.

Celia also provides award interpretation and advises on statutory obligations including advice on workplace health and safety matters. She assists in workplace investigations, negotiations, and in the reviewing and drafting of workplace agreements and contracts of employment. Research for internal and external clients is another key component of her role.
