Alex joined Livingstones in 1994 and has been Managing Director since 2000. Alex uses his high level technical skills and his many years of experience to provide quality strategic guidance, representation and support for employers across a broad range of employment and industrial relations needs.
Alex strives to understand each client’s unique cultural environment and business drivers, and believes that by working alongside his clients in the pursuit of clear business objectives, he is able to instil confidence and reduce stress levels in even the most challenging situations.
Alex advises private, government and not-for-profit sector employers in all facets of industrial relations. He is fully conversant with, and assists his clients with all aspects of enterprise bargaining. This ranges from developing the overarching negotiation strategy to acting as the lead employer negotiator.
On a daily basis he assists employers in properly undertaking performance management and disciplinary processes and he interprets and applies the industrial relations legislation to ensure clarity and compliance by his clients.
Often appearing as an employer advocate in the industrial relations tribunals, Alex’s attention to detail, calmness and unwavering focus ensures the best possible outcome in matters ranging from unfair dismissal applications to orders seeking the prevention of industrial action.
