Organisational Development
Tailored Interventions Aligned to Organisational Strategy
No matter how large or small your organisation, effective change is the result of a clear vision and decisive strategy. Livingstones approaches strategic planning processes in a holistic manner by identifying key issues, emerging trends and interdependent components. Our planning concept comprises a three phase process. Phase OneThe current reality or status of the organisation is assessed using extensive internal and external analysis. This is accomplished by using a variety of techniques depending on the needs of the organisation. The vision of the organisation is discussed, identified, or established depending on the maturity of the organisation, and the level of previous planning. Creative visionary processes may be used to examine a number of scenarios from which the alternate direction of the organisation may be chosen. Relevant stakeholders within the organisation are encouraged to take a long-term view (i.e., five years or more) in order to determine the organisation’s strategic plan for the interim. Phase TwoUsing the information generated from these two processes a strategic plan/business plan is developed and documented. Responsibilities for each level of the organisation are discussed, established and documented to aid implementation. Similarly, departmental/divisional budgets are formulated and implemented. Phase ThreeAn action research methodology is utilised in reviewing and evaluating the implementation of the new strategic plan. This evaluation will serve to review achievements, and serve as a valuable feedback loop for process improvement. More specifically, the Snyder model is utilised to evaluate process and outcomes and provides feedback for project improvement.
Process Evaluation
Links between elements in the process are compared and adjusted.
Outcome evaluation
Performance indicators are established by tracing the ideals back to a point where they may be evaluated.
Short Cycle evaluation
This form of evaluation builds in short feedback loops to assist in project improvement and development.
