Coaching
Enhancing work performance, life experience and personal growth
Livingstones offers both coaching services and coaching training for executives, managers and supervisors. Coaching works at an individual’s level. It is a collaborative, result-oriented process in which the coach facilitates the enhancement of work performance, life experience, self directed learning and personal growth of an individual. Your people are without question the most important assets in your organisations. Therefore, it makes commercial and business sense to invest effort and energy into the development of your staff to ensure high levels of work performance as well as personal growth. Our coaches work hard to change old habits of leaders and to generate new, successful actions by engaging in a productive results-oriented dialogue. We focus on encouraging each coachee to invent a future drawing from their own possibilities, values and vision. We work on creating sustained behaviour change, which will positively transform an executive’s working and personal life.

Our Approach
Livingstones coaching consultants are all professionally trained and experienced in delivering results driven coaching programs. We have built our practice around sound research and proven methodology which includes: - Focusing on each individual to ensure a balance of business and personal development;
- Measuring outcomes (business Key Performance Indicators) and implementing personal benchmarks;
- Using the process of coaching as a development tool to assist people to gain insight into their behaviour or habits and to understand how these impact in the workplace and on their career;
- Using reflection on real life events to add value and to prepare for future events;
- Utilising behavioural science theories and tools which are researched and validated; and
- Aligning our practice principles and competencies with the Australian Psychological Society Limited capability framework for Coaching Psychologists.
Coaching Model
We utilise a model of coaching which is based on an action research methodology. This model allows for flexibility in the number of coaching sessions provided. Our approach within each coaching session utilises the Solution Focused Approach (Greene & Grant, 2003) and the GROW model (Landsberg, 1997) which focuses on constructing solutions rather than analysing problems.
Our Methodology
At Livingstones we pride ourselves on delivering individually tailored programs to clients. In our coaching programs we find the following process both robust and flexible to meet most needs.
Initiation: Discuss the approach with the manager to clarify expectations, outcomes and “chemistry” between the parties.
Initial Coaching Session: Discuss history impacting on performance, form a contract and agree on stages.
Gap Analysis: Identify gaps between skills and goals. This process will depend on the individual and organisational needs. However, this may include pre and post assessments: 360 degree feedback (management surveys, Genos emotional Intelligence), MLQ, TMS, Benchmarks, QO2 and personality assessments such as the 15FQ.
Goal Setting: Livingstones coach assists the coachee to develop concrete and measurable goals for the coaching process.
Ongoing Sessions: Assist the coachee to achieve action plans, targets and goals through regular meetings to review progress, and reflect and reframe to focus on skills, performance or development needs.
Evaluation: To evaluate the coaching program including achievement of objectives and feedback. The session analyses the outcomes and value added in terms of the business.
Coachees are encouraged to maintain a workbook supplied by Livingstones which contain exercises and a guide on how to effectively manage the coaching relationship to derive maximum learning.
Livingstones’ team of consultants utilise a number of assessment tools based on the needs of each coachee.
EQ Coaching Program
We are also able to provide focused coaching to individuals. For example, Livingstones provides a structured training program surrounding Emotional Intelligence. The Genos Emotional Intelligence coaching program offers eight specific modules and behavioural rehearsal activities based upon the five key Emotional Intelligence capabilities: - Recognising and Expressing Emotions
- Understanding Emotions
- Making Decisions
- Managing Emotions
- Controlling Emotions
